Topic: Mayan Archeological Site Copan, Honduras
February 6th, 2024 – Grand Harbor Golf & Beach Club, Vero Beach, Florida USA / EYS was priveledged to host his Excellency Luis Contreras Chevez, Under Secretary of State for Honduras and the Head Of the UNESCO archeological site at Copan and world renowned ornithologist, Yobani Peraza. These gentlemen joined us for an extraordinary evening to kick off this year’s Support Trip to Honduras and encouraging people to visit the Hoinduran archeological site at Copan Ruins, the thermal Hot Springs at Aguas Calientes and support the Maya Chorti communities, by sharing food, making new friends, and feeling good about providing Hope to those who need it most. Note: Along the way, we plan to see and taste exotic artisanal chocolate and coffee produced by indigenous people locally just as the Mayans have done for thousands of years. That’s really “farm to table” at it’s best!

meals for elderly and kids
In January, EYS Volunteers Traveled to Lebanon and provided 200 meals for elderly and kids, many of them running away from the conflict in neighboring countries.
Each bag contained: • 2 meals (beans with lentils & chicken) • 2 portions of vegetables (cucumber, tomato & mint) • 2 fruits (apple / mandarin) • 2 full Arabic bread
CHRISTMAS BASKETS AND FOOD DONATIONS
EYS Team Members traveled to San Pedro Sula, Honduras to provide Food for 200 people at el Barrio ¨El Punche¨, a small community nestled in a wide green valley where a torrid river flows and everything floods with even the smallest amount of rain. EYS Volunteers went shopping for basic ingredients at the local Costco/PriceSmart and were able to deliver Christmas baskets with basic needs under bridges where kids take baths and dirty waters collect. Our Volunteers were of all ages, and so were the people we helped. The only real difference we saw was that none of their kids had cell phones. It's through the efforts of Walmart and the people of Indonesia, China, Tawain, and Bangladesh that many of these kids have their well traveled branded clothing and look just like us. The largest difference is that their kids all worry about eating every day.

We bought all of these items locally. Your donations help more people in the community than just the direct recipients of your gifts. Each time you make a new friend, you touch many other people beyond their immediate need. You touch the lives of many other neighbors as well.

Balancing The Basics
Simple ingredients provide a world of difference. It didn't take a great deal of time or money for our volunteers to make a difference on this day. They came with big hearts, and we all had a lot of fun joining in. Thank you to all who particpated! We made new friends and enjoyed the sunshine together.
We invite you to come visit with us! The lights in Managua during the holidays showcase the brilliance of the Christams spirit at its' finest.
Beans & Rice, Flour, Toilet Paper... These are simple things.
Basic things shouldn't be unexpected. It's a world of difference when you don't have them. It's a smile of Hope that appears on the face of the recipient when they are provided.
We can all do this! We just need to pause, sit a while, and listen.
Honduras 2023:
Friends, neighbors, & volunteers joined together in San Pedro Sula, Honduras earlier this year.
Pizza may not be as nutritious as we would Hope, but bringing people together is a wholesome inclusion to any menu.
We enjoyed a brief respite earlier this year when we shared a meal with our friends in San Pedro Sula.

Share a meal with your friends & neighbors.
Entonces y Siempre is a mobilization tool that allows us to enhance public commitment and citizen participation. We promote volunteering in our communities thereby transforming the lives of those in need.
Our programs focus on improving physical, emotional, spiritual and social well-being... and many times these begin with a meal.
"Canasta"... In Spanish, this literally means "basket". For many people, it means "Hope".

Food Drive...
In Spanish, we use the word: "Canasta" when we mean Gift "Basket".
Toilet Paper, Rice, & Beans aren't always the prettiest gifts, but they sometimes produce the greatest smiles. There's another translation for "canasta" that we don't always see. It's called "Hope". Thank you for all the support and Hope from all of the people who share in our smiles.
This past holiday season, we brought needed basics to many of our neighbor in Central America. We are just begining the drive for this season now!
More stories on our preparations and successes to follow...
